Maria’s Story

Before I came to YES, I was on welfare. I wanted to get out there and do something with my life, but I had no idea how to get started. YES Job Camp helped me out a lot. The counsellors taught me so much, and even helped me get proper interview clothes so I could look totally professional in job interviews. The counsellors here are great and welcome anybody with open arms even if everyone else has given up on them. They care for all youth, from any background or social group, and gave me that extra push that no one else would. They gave me a place to go when I needed to talk to someone.With their help, I was able to find a job.

I would definitely recommend YES Job Camp to any other youth in need of help to find a job. I would love to get word out about the YES Job Camp as much as I can so other kids can be helped as much as I have been helped. No young person in need of a job should get stuck in the gutter.
