Who We Are:
Yonge North York Business Improvement Area (BIA) serves 1600 member businesses and commercial property owners in the area along Yonge between the 401 and Bishop Avenue. Our vision is to be the preferred destination in North Toronto for businesses, residents, visitors and workers to live, work and play. Assisting our members and delivering relevant support is a priority.
Reports to: Executive Director and Coordinator
Key Accountabilities
Event Support tasks such as creating promotional materials, acting as an ambassador for the organization at events and managing logistics.
Distribute materials and information to Member businesses and commercial property owners, or community partners and sites.
Support communications and operational tasks for various initiatives in public realm, marketing, events, and economic development.
Assist the Executive Director and Coordinator in preparing event/public realm reports, communication materials, and conducting related data collection operations.
Complete various administrative, research and support tasks for the Coordinator as needed.

Core Competencies:
Relevant post-secondary education; or a relevant combination of skills/qualifications.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Excellent Excel and Word; Google Suite; and Zoom skills.
Canva skills.
Excellent communications, interpersonal skills, and customer service.
Attention to detail.
Able to work with minimal supervision or in a team.
Able to work flexible hours to accommodate meeting attendance including occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Bonus Skills (Not Required):
Excellent verbal and written Korean, Cantonese OR Farsi will be considered of benefit, but is not required.
Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Contract (3 months)
Wage: $18/hour (semi-monthly pay periods)
Start Date: Flexible January-February 2025

Other Requirements:
Able to follow COVID-19 protocols when required including wearing a mask. Ability to interact positively with multiple individuals. Ability to traverse as a pedestrian and via TTC (fare provided) to visit member businesses in our area. Working home office wifi required in case of periodic remote work. Ability to lift 30lbs to assist with event set-up and prep and to undertake maintenance tasks.
This position is contingent on grant funding from the Federal Government. The candidate will be required to meet eligibility requirements for the YES Employer Subsidy Program.
