Description of Position:

Gather the group n a "family circle" and have a group discussion about the importance of follolwing COVID measures
Emphasize safety rules in the kitchen and explain that the daily task each day is to cook lunch together!
Explain the theme of the week/day. Encourage children's input and participation.
Get the children involved in a discussion as to what specific tasks we need to do in the kitchen and have each child decide what would they like to do: washing fruits/veggies, chopping, mixing, etc.
Regulate oven and stove use strictly for the cook mentor/assistant only
Facilitate utensils and ingredients as needed
Supervise lunch/snacks and bathroom routines
Include outdoor play time in the afternoons
Ensure that each child participates in the preparation of the meal and encourage them to try and eat at lunchtime

Skills & Qualifications:

Cooking/culinary arts background
Valid Food Handler Certificate
First Aid/CPR
Vulnerable Sector Check
Fluent in English

HOURS:

Part time: 9 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday
Full Time 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday
