The Position
Amano is seeking to employ a Restaurant Supervisor on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, the Restaurant Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Establish Methods to Meet Work Schedules: Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
- Requisition Food and Kitchen Supplies: Manage inventory and order necessary food and kitchen supplies to maintain stock levels.
- Supervise and Co-ordinate Activities of Staff: Oversee staff in food preparation and portioning, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Train Staff: Provide training on job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain high standards.
- Estimate Ingredients and Supplies: Calculate required ingredients and supplies for meal preparation to minimize waste and ensure availability.
- Hire Food Service Staff: Recruit and hire qualified personnel for various positions within the restaurant.
- Quality Control: Ensure food and service meet established quality standards through regular inspections and feedback.
- Customer Complaints: Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Prepare Reports: Compile and submit reports on operational performance, inventory, and other relevant metrics.
- Food Order Summaries: Prepare detailed food order summaries for the chef to streamline kitchen operations.
- Culinary Knowledge: Possess knowledge of the restaurant’s culinary genres to provide guidance and ensure authenticity.
- Supervise Tray Assembly: Oversee the assembly of food trays to guarantee accuracy and presentation.
- Check Food Deliveries: Ensure timely and correct delivery of food trolleys to the dining area.
- Establish Work Schedules: Create and manage staff schedules to optimize coverage and efficiency.
Requirements
Minimum Education – Secondary School (a degree/diploma in hospitality preferred, but not required)
Minimum Experience – minimum three (3) years of managerial/supervisory experience in the food service industry
In-depth knowledge of food preparation, handling, and service
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment
Experience in interviewing and training staff
